Obituary of Sandra Reed Morris

Sandra Reed Morris, age 88, returned to heaven to join her family on Tuesday, 25 October 2022. She joins her husband, Gordon Hatch Morris, who died just 5 months ago, her son, David Gordon Morris, who died in 1980, her parents, Raymond Warren Reed and Lula Mae Long Reed, her brothers, Taylor and Jimmy, her sister Barbara Mae, her granddaughter Jessica, and her two great granddaughters Lilly and Oakley. Sandra was born in Safford, Arizona on 18 September 1934 to Ray and Mae Reed. She was their 3rd child and 2nd daughter. She always took care of her younger brother, Jimmy and her younger sisters, Nancy & Mary Lou. She was a loyal, life-long friend to many, including her siblings and cousins, whom she loved. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For most of her adult life, Sandra served in the Ward and Stake Primary (children's) organization of the Church wherever she lived. She loved family history where she used her skills of organizing and meticulous keeping records. She had many talents, including singing, cooking, baking, sewing, cross stitching, and all things crafts. She loved NYC, Broadway musicals, and everything associated with them. She, her mother, and her 2 sisters had many memorable and hilarious trips to NYC to visit their brother, Taylor, watch the musicals he performed in, and tour the east coast. Sandra was dedicated to her children and supported them in all of their interests. She never missed any of their games, performances, or activities. She had a great talent for running their home. Once their children were all on their own, Sandra turned those talents to running the office and doing the bookkeeping for her husband & son's landscape company. Sandra is survived by 2 of her children Greg (Callie) Morris and Cindy (Marten) Smith, 14 of her 15 grandchildren, 32 of her 34 great-grandchildren (with 3 more on the way), and 2 of her sisters, Nancy Long and Mary Lou (Brick) Goodman. Her funeral will be on Saturday, 5 November at 11 am at the Del Rio Ward building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1881 E. Del Rio Dr., Tempe, Arizona 85282. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:45am. Internment will follow the funeral at City of Mesa Cemetery at 1212 N Center St, Mesa, AZ 85201.
