Obituary of William Frank Sedik Jr.

William “Bill” Frank Sedik, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023, at his home in Florence, AZ. He was born on May 7, 1950, in Chicago Heights, IL, to William Frank Sedik, Sr. and Shirley Sedik. Bill was raised in Chicago Heights, IL with his sister, Susan.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois. His first job out of college was also his last job. Bill was proud of his 41 years of service with Chrysler Corporation. Bill had many different roles within Chrysler and retired as a Dealer Zone Representative in Service and Parts. Bill was offered the opportunity to live in different parts of the country, but he spent most of his career in Orlando, FL.

Bill had a passion and love of traveling with his wife Melody. They took many short and long camping trips throughout the west in their travel trailer. They enjoyed many cruises together, traveling to their favorite ports in the Bahamas, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and all the Virgin Islands. On their honeymoon they went to China and experienced many things together. They especially enjoyed the Great Wall of China and the Terracotta soldiers.

Bill loved to be on the water. Melody and Bill went out on their boat often with their dog, Milo. For a while, they lived on a houseboat in beautiful Lake Pleasant at Scorpion Bay.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Melody Barbeaux-Sedik; sister, Susan Sedik (Scott) Barker; his daughters Bethany (Jason) Miller, Amber (Abe) Vantze, and Ariel (Matthew) Rutenbeck; his son Alexander Elrod; and his grandchildren Sena, Abigail, Annaliese, Nathanael, Caleb, and Luke. Bill was also survived by his nephew Chad (Maryann) Barker; his niece Kelsey (Hieu) Ngo; and his grandniece Elise. He was preceded in death by his son Joel Michael; his father William Frank Sedik Sr.; and his mother Shirley Sedik.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on November 4, 2023, at 10:30AM at Evangel Assembly of God, located at 5838 Hoffner Ave, Orlando, FL 32822. It will be an opportunity for family, friends, and all those touched by Bill’s well lived life to come together and honor his memory. After the ceremony at the same location, his wife Melody will host a light lunch to continue to celebrate Bill’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to Hospice of the Valley (www.hov.org).
