Obituary of Hui Chong Gallant

Hui Chong Gallant of Chandler, Arizona passed away on September 11, 2023. Hui Chong was born in Korea and moved to Anaheim, California in 1971, where she later obtained her United States citizenship. She then moved to Arizona in 1985 and lived her remaining days in Chandler, Arizona.

Hui Chong is survived by her daughters Barbara Downs, Patricia Hinchman, and Abigail Scott, their husbands Robert Downs, John Scott, and Jay Hinchman, and her many beautiful grandchildren. Hui Chong was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. She could most often be seen singing and dancing on any given day, and she loved to offer food or drink to those who stopped by to visit. She was a talented professional seamstress and designer whose work graced places in both South Korea and the United States. Her green thumb was the marvel of family and friends who often received gifts from her gardens. She was a vigilant and fierce protector of all those she loved, and her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. Her family considered themselves lucky to have her steadfast loving care as their matriarch. They love and deeply miss her.
